'When the lights dim'

A group collaboration

2016 kicked off to a [Penny] Sparrow being devoured on social media. South African’s were again forced to look at integrated interactions and social unions since 1994 (and before).

Artists of course have been exposing such issues while facing indiscriminate censorship and social ills for centuries.

This show seeks to examine the underbelly from a variety of views - the gluttonous appetite of Johannes Segogela’s subjects, the play-doh features of brutalised victims and sexual predators in the work of Hannes van Zyl, the sexualisation of the subjects of Craig Cameron-Mackintosh, and the man-beasts in the graphics of Paul Molete.
